Record 1.6 million attend Dortmund Love Parade
BERLIN (AFP) — Dortmund's techno music Love Parade attracted a record 1.6 million people, organisers said Sunday.
About 30 floats from 15 countries moved through the streets of the western city to the sound of deafening electronic music on Saturday.
It was the second time the parade has been organised in the city. Essen attracted an estimated 1.2 million revellers last year.
The event had to be moved away from the German capital Berlin after disagreements with the city authorities over logistics and security.
Next year's event is scheduled to take place in Bochum.
