Man jailed for 'Indiana Jones' set theft

LOS ANGELES (AFP) — A man who tried to sell items stolen from the set of the latest "Indiana Jones" film faces two years in prison after agreeing a plea deal, judicial sources said Thursday.

Roderick Davis, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property and one count of commercial burglary in connection with a plot to sell the stolen movie materials online.

Davis was arrested in early October in a sting operation after items related to the latest "Indiana Jones" film directed by Steven Spielberg were advertised online.

Police had been alerted by Universal Studios after it emerged that computers and hundreds of photos disappeared from a production office.

The latest in the Indiana Jones franchise, starring Harrison Ford, 65, as the globe-trotting Indy, Australia's Cate Blanchett and Britain's Ray Winston and John Hurt, is due to open in May of next year.
