BBC offers TV shows on Apple's iTunes

LONDON (AFP) — BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the British Broadcasting Corporation, launched on Tuesday a service allowing consumers to download its TV shows from Apple's iTunes website.

The BBC said it was Britain's first broadcaster to offer television programmes on iTunes for download onto Apple's video iPods and iPhones.

Episodes of popular shows including "Little Britain" and "Life on Mars" are available for purchase from iTunes' Britain website for 1.89 pounds (2.50 euros, 3.69 dollars).

"We want to give audiences a wide variety of options on how and where to view their favourite BBC shows," said Simon Danker, director of digital media at BBC Worldwide.
