AMMAN (AFP) — King Abdullah II of Jordan headed for France on Saturday for talks on Middle East peace efforts with President Nicolas Sarkozy, the palace said.
The king was to meet the French president to discuss "the role of France in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process," before travelling to Slovenia and Austria for talks on European efforts to help find a solution to the conflict.
In Slovenia, which currently holds the European Union rotating presidency, the king will meet President Danilo Turk, the palace said in a statement. He is then due to travel to Vienna for talks with Austrian President Heinz Fischer.
The king will be accompanied by Queen Rania.
