Jeff Koons' eye-popping Versailles show extended

PARIS (AFP) — An unlikely show of works by US pop art giant Jeff Koons set against the backdrop of the Versailles chateau is being extended due to its popularity, organisers said Friday.

Curators said a quarter of a million people had visited the exhibition since it opened September 10, "an exceptional figure given there are usually few people during this period, after the summer".

The show will therefore be extended three weeks until January 4, a statement from the curators said.

A total 17 Koons works are on show amid the royal apartments and gardens of the chateau west of the French capital.
