LOS ANGELES (AFP) — Hollywood heart-throb Matthew McConaughey and girlfriend Camila Alves are expecting their first child, the actor said on his website Wednesday.
The 38-year-old star of romantic comedies "The Wedding Planner" and "Failure to Launch" said in an entry on his online diary that Brazilian-born model Alves, 24, was three months pregnant.
"My girlfriend Camila and I made a baby together," McConaughey writes. "It's three months growing in her womb and all looks healthy and lively so far.
"We are stoked and wowed by this miracle of creation and this gift from God, and so excited for the adventure that will come in raising this child, being mother and a father, and shepherding him or her through this life."
McConaughey, winner of People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" accolade in 2005, will appear in comedy "Fool's Gold" opposite Kate Hudson.
