BEIJING (AFP) — Tibet will reopen to foreign tourists on Wednesday, China's state-run Xinhua news agency said Tuesday, quoting a tourism official in the Himalayan region.
Xinhua said a small number of foreign tourists would begin arriving Wednesday in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa, where violent protests against Chinese rule erupted in March, prompting China to seal off the region.
