Top SKorean player suspended for violence
SEOUL (AFP) — A South Korean baseball star was suspended indefinitely Thursday for allegedly violent behaviour after a late night drinking bout, the Korean Baseball Organisation (KBO) said.
Jung Soo-Keun is captain of the Lotte Giants and was a member of the country's 2000 Olympic baseball team.
He allegedly beat up an apartment security guard and a police officer in the southern city of Busan.
"Jung was suspended indefinitely," a KBO spokesman told journalists.
Jung, 31, commands league-wide popularity for his base-stealing and hitting skills.
