Owner family says NFL Rams not for sale

ST. LOUIS, Missouri (AFP) — The St. Louis Rams are not for sale, owner Chip Rosenbloom said on Tuesday, ending speculation the National Football League club might be on the block after his mother's death.

Rosenbloom and his sister, Lucia Rodriguez, became the controlling partners of the team when their mother, Georgia Frontiere, died in January.

"It has only been four months since my mom passed away," Rosenbloom said. "Her passing immediately caused speculation that we were selling the team. We've been approached by several people.

"And while we deal with her estate, I can assure you we have every intention of keeping the Rams in St. Louis."

The Rams, who moved from Los Angeles in 1995, won their only Super Bowl crown in 2000, defeating Tennessee 23-16 at Atlanta, Georgia.
