NEW YORK (AFP) — The National Football League continues to try and sell its game internationally by holding games next season in Toronto and London.
One of the highlights of the 2008 American gridiron schedule released Tuesday will be the Buffalo Bills facing the Miami Dolphins in Toronto on December 7.
It's the first of five regular-season home games the Bills are playing in Toronto as part of an agreement that runs through 2012.
The Bills also will face the Pittsburgh Steelers on August 14 in one of three preseason home games north of the border.
"The schedule is determined by the National Football League," said Bills chief operating officer Russ Brandon when asked about Miami being the opponent chosen for the Toronto game.
"They determine the schedule for all 32 member clubs and we have zero input into the process. That being said we're excited to play up in the Toronto marketplace and continue that rivalry up north.
"As we've said all along this series is about regionalization."
For the second time in as many seasons, the NFL also will venture across the pond as the San Diego Chargers take on the New Orleans Saints in London on October 26.
It marks the second time in as many seasons that the NFL will play in London after the New York Giants faced the Miami Dolphins last October at Wembley Stadium.
