Iraqi PM heads to London for new medical tests
BAGHDAD (AFP) — Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on Sunday left for London for further medical tests, his second visit to a British hospital in two months, government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh told AFP.
"The prime minister has left for London today for more follow-up tests as asked by his doctor," Dabbagh said.
The spokesman denied the Iraqi leader was ill. "Nothing is wrong with him. This is just a follow-up to the earlier tests."
Maliki underwent two days of check-ups in a London hospital late December after suffering exhaustion caused by his heavy workload.
