Figure skating: ISU ratify US pair's quad salchow throw
PARIS (AFP) — The International Skating Union (ISU) on Monday ratified the quadruple Salchow throw landed for the first time in competition by US pairs skaters Tiffany Vise and Derek Trent.
Vise and Trent succeeded with the jump during their free programme at the Trophee Bompard, the fourth in the six-leg ISU Grand Prix figure skating series, in which they finished overall fourth on Sunday.
Zhang Dan and Zhang Hao won the pairs title ahead of fellow Chinese Pang Qing and Tong Jian with Russians Maria Mukhortova and Maxim Trankov third.
